There’s recently been a new viral thing that has piqued my interest. People all over different social media challenge ChatGPT to describe their lives based on what the AI knows about them. Intrigued by this idea, I decided to try it out and see what information I could dig up.

Establishing the Context
As a frequent user of ChatGPT, I tend to use it mostly for helping me with coding questions, suggesting ideas for writing articles, and looking up information on topics. While I wasn’t anticipating any life-altering or revealing results, I found myself getting hooked on what areas in my life the artificial intelligence would point out.
The Prompt
To put this trend to the test, use this prompt.
“Based on what you know about me, draw a picture of what you think my current life looks like.”
The Output
ChatGPT generated a picture with the three main aspects of my life: coding, writing articles, and a desire for self-improvement. The first two aspects have a deep connection with me, since coding and writing form the core of my everyday work. The third aspect could mean that it is the way of continuous improvement and learning, but that is not my priority number one always.
Analysis of the Image
Along with the image was a caption from the AI that explained its decisions:
“Here’s an illustration capturing a glimpse of your tech-focused life, from managing websites to keeping up with various tools and tasks in a creative, well-organized workspace. I hope it resonates with your current setup!”
I found this explanation interesting because it showed how ChatGPT interprets the interaction with a user, combining personal interests with elements of lifestyle.
Understanding My Familiarity with ChatGPT
Curiosity got the better of me as I started to wonder how ChatGPT had arrived at these conclusions in my life. I do understand that all my previous interactions with AI—inquiries about programming help, tips on article writing, and advice on self-betterment—contributed to its knowledge of my hobbies and pastimes. The more you use the AI, the more it seems to learn about your preferences in life.
Comparing with Others
Comparing with Others Curious to see what would happen when other people responded to the same prompt, I spoke with a colleague, Maneesha Perera, who also decided to give it a try. Her AI photo included elements that reflected her love of painting, her family, and even her pets. This didn’t surprise me because Maneesha uses ChatGPT for many more things and in much more depth than I do, so I know a great deal more about her life.
In summary, Doing this viral trend was a fun exploration into how artificial intelligence views our lives. It’s a good reminder of how much ChatGPT learns from the interactions of users over time. While the picture obtained through the process was enlightening, it did make me a lot more conscious of the type of information that I should be sharing. Either way, playing around with this prompt was quite a fun experience for its unique view into my own interests framed through artificial intelligence. If you are curious about what ChatGPT might think of your life, why not give it a try? You might just be astonished at the reflections it has to share!
